McCullough’s play Household Spirits will premiere at Theater Wit in Chicago. Previews begin October 6, 2023 and performances run through November 11th, 2023. Household Spirits is a dark comedy about a newly blended family coping with secrets and trauma as they naviagte their first holiday season together. Household Spirits was developed in part through Chicago Dramatists, Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s First Look Reading Series, The Goodman Theatre’s New Stages Series, and PlayPenn 2012.

Mia performed her new solo show Milkshakes and Morphine as part of Lifeline Theatre’s Fillet of Solo. Milkshakes and Morphine explores McCullough’s experiences caring for her aging mother who struggled with cancer and an undiagnosed eating disorder. She hopes to continue to perform the piece for medical students around the country.
